Reflection

I began “Reflection” with the feeling of looking back on the memories when life was a mix of beautiful, difficult, strange, and still somehow worth smiling about. I wanted this abstract painting to hold that same journey, the moment when we realise we nearly break apart but did not.

The black and grey vertical marks symbolise storms, pressure, distance, and the parts of life that feel heavy. They fall like rain, shadows, and city lights, creating a sense of movement through uncertainty. The deep magenta and burgundy colours bring courage, desire, joy, pain, and the fierce in our hearts that wish to live outside the usual path. These colours soften the darkness without denying it.

You can see that the gold lines are small, but they are important. I placed them like pauses, signs, and little moments of grace along the way. To me, they symbolise guidance, self-belief, and the rewards that appear when we keep moving.
