Lasting Light

This piece emerged from a fascination with the interplay between chaos and order. The tension between forces that disrupt and those that linger inside us. I began with a deep exploration of blue hues, letting them spread across the canvas in layers that evoke the vastness of space or the quiet depth of will to achieve our dreams. These blue shades serve as a backdrop, a field of calm that allows other elements to emerge vividly. The central black square symbolises an obstacle in daily life, while vivid splatters of magenta and orange break through its challenges. The outer black square represents our mind and heart. While the orange strokes convey lights inside us, the purple pattern and textured dots within the blue background represent the will to keep trying and adding depth and rhythm to the composition.

The creative process was abstract expressionism. By layering colours, each stroke and splatter was a dialogue between our mind and heart. The emotional resonance I hope to convey is one of resilience and wonder. I want collectors to feel the tension between stillness and moving forward, between challenges and having faith, and to recognise that within the uncertainty, there are sparks of light that persist; the “Lasting Light.”

I hope that the artwork seeks to serve as a reminder that one will truly believe in the light within, even in the darkest spaces. It encourages bravery, but at the same time acknowledges that we have the power inside us to chase our dreams.
