“Dawn Vessel” emerges from an observation of the blessing that comes with the day and night. We can see the change that happens at dawn, where the night still clings, but the first hints of light appear at the horizon. I wanted to capture that in-between state: the tension, the release, and the transformation. The vessel, in this sense, is both a container of memory and a carrier of possibility, holding the fragments of the past while pushing toward the unknown of the future.

This piece wasn’t based on a single idea. Instead, it was based on a feeling: the hope of a fresh start. I began with dense and layered textures to mimic the complexity of the night, which is represented by the deep purples, dark blues, and black as background. From there, I splashed bright orange and bursts of neon green and yellow, signifying new light from within and a fresh start of a new day. The choice to use these energetic strokes was intentional. They symbolise the strength that comes from inner peace and the willingness to let go of things.

I want collectors to feel that it’s okay to let go because we deserve to live our own lives just the way we want them.  “Dawn Vessel”  is not meant to soothe but to awaken our inner peace. I want to show that every end carries the seed of a beginning. Moreover, I hope that this piece acts as a mirror for anyone navigating change, offering them not answers but inspiration. In the world, I see this artwork as a celebration of letting go: a reminder that the vessel of the self is always in motion, always capable of carrying us forward on our path.
