Serenity

What if peace is not somewhere we escape to, but something we slowly create within ourselves? There was a time when life felt more rushed than we could bear, and every challenge seemed to pull us away from ourselves. Life became a chaotic routine, and somehow we didn’t seem to notice many things around us. I learned that by slowing down, we can create peace within ourselves. Serenity was born from that turning point.

I started with the flowing blues and turquoise to express emotional release, clear thought, and the calm rhythm of moving without resistance. While the lavender and violet tones symbolise inner peace, the soft beige and pale grey represent a space to breathe and slow down from the chaos. Besides, the warmer golden edge beneath the piano keys carries hope during challenging times. Together, these colours create a soothing contemporary abstract painting that gives a peaceful feeling without becoming still.

Let’s see the black piano keys at the top. They are meant to represent memory and the familiar rhythm that helps us find tranquillity in our hearts. Across the canvas, the sweeping dark marks symbolise sparks of emotion, courage, and individuality. In addition, I painted it with diagonal movement, which shows a journey to find balance in our daily routine. I then left the open spaces to allow the artwork to pause between each visual pattern. This is to represent the chaos changing into Serenity.
